COVID-19 lockdown controls and human rights abuses: the socioeconomic and social marketing implications

Background: This work is a situation analysis of reported human rights abuses that have characterized the COVID-19 controls and lockdown in some countries world. This as documented by reliable mass media sources, relevant international organizations non-governmental between January 2020 to April 2020. Methods: A combined content analysis, critical doctrinal method applied this study line with reproducible research process. It secondary-data-based study, conducted through qualitative approach. Findings: The findings revealed among other things that: lockdowns curfews’ enforcement law officers contravened peoples’ fundamental within first month. Security forces employed overt immoderate implement orders. The curfew enforcements were not significantly respectful life dignity. emergency declarations discriminatory against minorities vulnerable groups countries. Research limitations/implications: report based on data from investigative journalism opinions United Nations organizations, police investigations or reports. implication if social marketing orientations risk communication community engagement attitudes given implementing curfews, humanitarian breaches witnessed would been avoided drastically minimized. Originality: originality review it undertake curfews countries. portrayed poor level amongst officers, culminating frosty police-public relationships.
